OK, I lamented yesterday when they were out of stock. Relieved that I did not buy one. And now today, weakened by no breakfast and fortified by strong coffee my fingers that are afflicted by the Alien hand syndrome bought the camera.

Please understand I was not really responsible... much like the LAS, Lens Acquisition Syndrome, Alien Hand Syndrome is a rare neurological disorder that causes hand movement without the person being aware of what is happening or having control over the action. The afflicted person may sometimes reach for objects and manipulate them without wanting to do so, even to the point of having to use the healthy hand to restrain the alien hand. "Doctor Stranglove"** syndrome. I used this as an excuse when a teen on a date with a very "proper" young lady. Unfortunately, she did not believe me and her older 6'2" brother punched me, breaking my nose, making it tilt to one side ... a help in using eye view on cameras.

** Dr. Strangelove Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb... indeed a must see film.

I glad you enjoyed my spoof on why we buy cameras and lenses. My friend told me to make sure that people understood it was a spoof... she thinks too many in UHH are concrete thinkers and would believe that hand /nose story. The hand/arm syndrome is a real condition well documented.. no I do not have it. My nose was broken by a line drive base ball, the pitcher, me, just watched it coming right at me... I woke up a little later ... knocked me flat.

Yes, this little gem is a tribute to what can be done with little sensors, just as my Sony HX50v. I like the eye-view and the raw recording. Love the HX50 because it is small and with me 24/7. My Big Sony Alpha and heavy lenses can stay on the shelf in the back pack camera bag.... older is go lite. I can not believe how much weight I carried around my neck in the 1970s Heavy camera Heavy lenses extra film etc.

You're welcome, Connie.

Even though I have a SX50, at the price it's selling for, owning a 2nd SX50 did go through my mind but I was strong and resisted.
