Err, if you have selected the larger size this because you have an illness this is great.

It does not invalidate 'ergonomic is the prime concern', far from it, it confirms it. That to address your health concerns you must use the largest tablet underlines the comment 'that bigger is not better - for the average 'joe''.

To address the more precise if bigger... THAT is misleading as tablets allow for magnifying turning the argument upside down. Sure you will 'see' less of your image at anyone time. Trouble here is that it does not matter as you can also magnify the area you are working one regardless of the tablet size.

Note that the precision* is at the hardware level and is the same in all similar device series; the size does not change the surface sensitivity.

I had read some time ago that the smaller size tablets are actually better for most people.
You can rest your palm on the desk or tablet and not have to be moving your hand and arm around to access areas of the larger tablet.
Not having actually used one yet.....I really don't know for sure but I'm inclined to go with the smaller one.

I sent an email off to Wacom regarding compatibility with Photoshop so....we'll see what they come back with but making a tablet that isn't compatible with PS would seem odd.

That is not necessarily true of the new 'Photo' Waucom tablet. Their website speaks only of the 2 softwares I mentioned, but is not specific if compatible with other software. More research needed....

Their wording does almost imply that the tablet and included software go together but I think that since this is a lower end tablet they want to make it appealing to a wider audience by touting the "package" value.
Included in the verbiage around their higher end tables is always mention of Adobe Photoshop.
Hence my concern.

All the other tablets do accept your installed pp software, but since the 'photo' Waucom is new and does not mention compatibility, reaching out to them to confirm is the right thing.

I have the medium size and it works for me. I ran into trouble because I am using three monitors and had to 'localize' the tablet to only one. It was possible but not as straight forward as I would have liked it.

I use Windows as OS, PS CC 2015, ACDSee ultimate and a few other imaging programs as needed. The tablet begs to work with other stuff (word processing, internet) but I prefer my track ball... In short I am not about to go the 'ultimate' by replacing the mouse with a tablet and stylus.

Regardless of the size you order, you can reassign the active area. Mine is like 10X10. I have reassigned the area to 6X6. So when I do use it it's easier.

You could have called them, properly get a faster response. But as Ron mentioned and I mentioned it you will find it will work. I can't see the manufacture writing themselves out of Adobe. Probably one of there biggest markets.

I always use a wacom pen and tablet for ALL my computer work. I would not be with out it for my photo pp. Although right handed I can't use a mouse in my right hand and it is hopeless trying to do any detailed work with the left hand... I play games with the wacom pen... You can even write your email with it if you are not too hot on typing... I have a large one as I find it is very easy to use as you do not have to move the pen like the mouse but lift it off the tablet like you would do if you were writing on paper with a normal pen to move to where you want to go... Mine is the Intuos 4, but there are newer models out...

The problem is that all the info on the website doesn't really tell me what I want to know which is.....does it work with PS

Definitely one of my concerns. If it doesn't work with Photoshop it won't work for me.

Does it come with its own SW so it will appeal to those without Photoshop or does it come with its own SW because that's all it will work with?

Yes, it will work with PS and it will work with other software programs too; such as your email and web browser, etc.

It can all be setup in the Wacom "preferences" menus.

All the detail is on their website. Appears as though you must use 'their' software which includes Corel for Windows and Macphun for Mac. Website makes no reference to being able to use whatever pp software you already have installed. :?

I don't use it much but I have an older Wacom. It works with any software that works with a mouse or touchpad etc.
