My sister had a horse collection, as well (plastic and stuffed)...then at a camping/RV show she was forced to go to with my parents (she was too young to stay at home) she entered a drawing by campground a few hours west of us that was giving away one of it's trail horses because of liability/insurance issues. At some point after the show they called the house saying she won! My mom initially thought it was a joke, but it wasn't! As a stipulation we had to pay to board the horse at their facility for a period of time (6 mo?) so that's where we took our vacations with our camper. That whole incident set forth a snowball effect of changes. We moved to a new house about 20 min away that had a barn and 2 1/2 acre pasture just before she started high school and my dad at some point later - 6 mi or a year - , for an anniversary present, bought my mom one of the other trail horses from the facility. THEN during a subsequent trip to Branson, MO (where they've been several times) they went to a Yakov Smirnoff show where he asked the audience what's the most unusual present anyone had gotten...I think you can guess who's answer won!! At that point he brought my parents on stage, asked them both a bunch of questions (my dad's answers being more PC) and proceeded to to compose a poem (or song) on the spot for them. They got a video tape of the show, or at least that part of it. Who would have ever some up with such a crazy scenario, but it's all true!! We have since moved a couple times and both Charlie (my sister's) and Ginger (my mom's) are riding the high plains with Trigger, Silver, etc.
