What a good start to September. Loved the ordinary things. You all do such great work. I have to second Larry's word on how nice it is that everyone is so helpful. I join those who appreciate help. I love a good critique. That is one great way to learn.
Now for Boats and Floats. See what you can capture in this category. I know you will have some great work to post.
One reason I love this first one is while I watched this Dad and son, I notice that the son was holding on to Dad's pant leg with all his might. That is a picture of trust to me. i like the colors in the second one. The third one made me say, "Bless the Lord, O my soul!"
One website that offers some good information on photographing boats and photographing from boats, which can be tricky:

E Mang thanks for hosting the challenge. No Many boats in the high arid country. I will cruse the archives.
You may find Noah's ark in that high country.

Thanks for hosting E Mang, love the lighting on the boats in #2
Very seldom shoot boats but will see if there is anything I can come up with
These were taken at Port Bruce, ON. The water was very rough and it is on Lake Erie....very difficult to get large waves on a lake! But this young man and a friend were trying to make the best of it.
#3 was taken at Mitchell's Bay. The wind surfers can go out a long way as this lake is really shallow!

Anzalduaz Park, Mission, TX. Police headed out on the Rio Grande River, protecting our borders from drug dealers and illegals.
Thanks Simon! I was so glad the man looked up!

I found this boat looking like a box on the water. It was so long and blocky looking. These two fisherman were netting fish from their boat in Saint John Harbour. They had a good catch!
At the Marina... there are lots of boats here during the summer months. Boating is a popular pastime in this area.
And lastly and althoughthis is stretching the theme a bit, but I was once taken up with creating a quilt with the theme name, Ships at Sea and I loved making it, it is now on my son's bed.
quilt blocks lay out
the finished quilt "Ships at Sea"
What a great start....Thanks E. Mang
