That works well if the intent is to imitate a faded photo from an old scrapbook that was relatively well preserved for 100 years.

I'd rather see a recent BW image, with some real "pop". All it takes in that case, because it really is a very good composition, is 1) no border/vignette, and 2) throw an S into the gamma curve using a "curves" tool. That would get rid of most of the annoying noise in the sky, but most of all eliminate the "haze" appearance due to low contrast.

The obvious problem with what I'd rather see is that it's your photograph! Tell us what you want it to look like, and you'll get suggestions that improve it for you.

Thanks Angela - not a big fan of B&W - shame to have so much colour in a scene and not capture it but B&W does work in some situations.
