James Albert "Limey" Hollingsworth had a Harley Davidson dealership in Saint Augustine, Florida on highway US #1. It was so original that the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan wanted to buy it lock stock and barrel and install it in their museum. Limey turned down the offer. Pictured here is a 1953 Harley on an original motorcycle lift. Limey passed away on August 29, 2007.

Pixelmaster, great picture of the old Harley Davidson, and story about the old dealership in Florida. Thanks for sharing. Tejaswrangler :)

Question. What happened to the bike after "Limey" died?

Matt:

Since I took that photograph during my trip to St. Augustine it is most likely that it was sold. I believe the family closed the business. Limey was in forefront of motorcycle racing. In the back of the store and workshop he had an old Quonset Hut with all the photographs of the early racers at Daytona. It was an incredible photographic history of that time. Some time later i went back and asked his family to scan the photographs since the Quonset Hut was open to the humidity of the Florida weather.
I do not know if they ever followed through on that. Limey knew more about Harleys than anyone you could ever meet.

Not often to find a panhead that survived in original condition.
