Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) is a common bracket or shelf fungus, which grows on the sides of logs or trees. Unlike a mushroom, it is a fungus that has no stalk. It feels leathery to the touch.

Turkey Tail has a spoon or cup shape, up to four inches wide, and it is very colorful, ranging from brown, white, tan, orange, red, or purple, and sometimes all these colors at once.

That yellow-crowned night heron and the young bird in the last image of the first set were parent and young. They were about 4-5 feet apart. We got dozens of shots of those, picking the ones to post was most difficult.

I appreciate your looking in and commenting.

Thank you imagemeister. I appreciate your looking in and commenting. That bird was one of the parents of the young bird pictured in last night's set. They both were extremely photogenic.

Thank you, Gary, for looking in and commenting.

That shot is one of my favorites also and will be printed after the ball game is over (Rays 6 -Orioles 0 in the top of the 6th).
Those birds posed for us for a long time.

Thank you, MattPhox, for looking in and your comments. The yellow-crested night heron is definitely a beautiful bird. I was intrigued by that fungus as well. Nikonian72 gave some interesting information about it above.
