This will give you a pretty good rundown on the advantages of the D7200 over the D90: http://cameradecision.com/compare/Nikon-D7200-vs-Nikon-D90. ;)

A massive move from "Yesterday" to today's state of the art cropped sensor, you will get the "Wow" factor.

There aren't enough electrons to list. It is well-worth the upgrade. BUT don't get rid of the D90. It is an excellent camera for a backup. But among the best features is a vastly superior auto-focus, twice the pixels, much less noise at any ISO and much higher ISO capability with low noise, etc. (No word "len". Singular is lens, plural is lenses.)

I know you did not mention these two cameras, but I prefer the Nikon D5300 and Nikon D5500 to either the Nikon D7200 and/or the Nikon D90. The D5500 and D5300 have almost the same stats/qualities as the D7200 and they are roughly 60% the cost of the Nikon D7200. Have a great time with whichever camera you purchase.

The D7200/d7100s set new "state of the art" in crop sensors compared to D5300 or D5500. Many Full Frames will scramble to catch up....

I too have the D90. It's a workhorse, but I'm intrigued by the video capabilities of the D7200. Way better. I've made up my mind just researching vendors...
