Hello all, I shot this photo at this years fourth of July parade and have been looking at it for 2 months. I decided to crop out the woman and I do like the photo, but I feel like I turned a street shot into a portrait. What do you think? Thanks...Marty

#2 is an interesting and powerful portrait. What was your concern re changing it from a "street" shot? What did you have in mind as the original story?

Thank you Linda. In the original I liked the contrast between the World War II Vet, the last of the greatest generation, his intense focus and the heart felt love he has for the day against the woman on a cell phone whom might as well be walking through the mall.
The portrait (cropped) has more impact for me.
