KA-THUMP in this story is a Juvenile Ruby Throat-ed Humming bird that
was chased into our sun room window. It knocked itself out cold but when the wife went and picked it up it moved. We placed it on a table in the shade until it came to. I thought how cool would it be to get some close ups of this little bugger before it fly's away. While I moved it around and got it awake the wife got my 7DMKII and my 24-105L lens out of my truck for me. I placed it on my hand a took and couple of shots and then had the Kind Lady to hold it for several shots. It never seemed to be frightened of us and let us place it and move around in the light with it. When it had fully recovered it seemed to look sad as in the last picture and then flew up into the tree. We got to see it join the others at the feeder. This was a very exciting photo op for us and I hope you enjoy the pictures. First photo is a feeding area that I sat up to attract my front yard friends. mdh

Thank you, we were scared that it was going to fly away before we could
get the number of shots that it let us. Dennis
Excellent story and series Morris.

Absolutely wonderful set... #7 is a standout to me!
Nice series and so glad the it survived, Dennis; unfortunately while, deadheading some flowers this morning we found a young Prothonotary Warbler dead in the flowers. It had apparently crashed into the window and dropped into the flowers--such a shame and it was so beautiful!

What a wonderful story and how lucky you were that it just sat there on your hand for you. That must have been a wonderful feeling. Love the images too, all nice and sharp and clear.
