Most of the items are sold or donated to museums. Thanks for looking.

Here's an update -- there are still a few things left from the first batch of cameras. Thanks for everyone's help and patience as I learned the system! In the near future I'll be posting additional items -- and each item will be listed in a separate post. No more nightmares for everyone!

Here's the current list. The link for photos is also updated.

Hi fellow Hoggers,

I'm needing to sell my camera collection fairly quickly, and I'd much prefer that items go to trustworthy folks like you who will appreciate them instead of eBay lurkers and landfill scavengers.

I've got a real potpourri to offer. Almost everything's in usable condition, and very presentable cosmetically. I'm starting to make an inventory and photograph individual items, so will respond ASAP to your inquiries.

The "stuff" starts with Leica 3M and C-III bodies, Summicron 1:2/50 and four other Leica lenses, assorted meters, flash, cases and accessories.

Something I've always found pretty cool: a Verito Diffused Focus f/5, 15" lens in full brass barrel. It's one very big, neat door-stop! <grin>

From there, there are a few Speed and Crown Graphics, other sheet film shooters, various folding cameras from 1900 until the plastic stuff went onto the market (no plastics) including Kodak, Agfa, Balda Juwella, C LUNZ-Hanover. I've got a large McIntosh Stereopticon projector and slides, and all kinds of pre-digital photo advertising paraphernalia.

I've even got a neon "One Hour Photo" sign (will have to be packaged and shipped by UPS due to fragile nature). There are boxes and boxes of filters, hoods, and other generally useless stuff, too.

These things have been in our home since I collected them years ago, and a few have been displayed in my classroom (I retired as a high school and college photography teacher).

Unfortunately I'm relatively clueless about each item's value, so I'm planning to trust you folks to submit reasonable offers -- be fair to yourself, but realize that I'm trying to pay off a brain tumor surgery, so please be fair to me, too. If there's an offer that I think is simply too low, I'll let you know. Above all, we'll keep it all friendly -- one very ugly hedgehogger to another. Okay? (Shipping will be actual charges only, well-packed and insured. I don't know anything at all about international shipping, so you'll either have to talk me through it, or we'll keep things going to USA addresses.)

Soon, I'll list all the semi-modern stuff I've got to sell: medium format SLR, TLR, 35mm Nikon and Pentax, and some more recent digital (mostly Nikon).

Please PM with questions.

Many thanks!
Jim Ellenberger

Hi Jim,

I'm always on the lookout for Konica, Koni-Omega & Koni-Omegaflex, Konishiroku, Konishi, Rokuoh-Sha and Sakura items. Please send a PM if you have any.

Also looking for a vintage wooden tripod, pre-WW II type. And some Japanese 1/2 plate size film holders.

Also might be interested in vintage Nikons and Nikkors.

Heck, I guess I'm actually interested in just anything... so would love to see a comprehensive list, once you have a chance to put something together.

Cheers and I trust you have made a full recovery from your surgery!

Hi Jim--I sorry for the reason you have to sell your collection. I think about the only thing I could afford is the vintage advertising. I am looking for a Mamiya 55mm or 45mm for the Mamiya M645-but may not be able to afford right now. It would be good to see your list of items. I like Nikon stuff and antique cameras especially sheet film and plates. Take some photos and post them that will help. Thanks a lot and Ill pray for your speedy recovery.

The OP posted this message re photo gear for sale, but doesn't appear willing to respond to any of us --- a time waster who is just testing the market before putting his real ad on eBay.

Why don't you give him a break. You denigrate him after less than a day, when he already explained he is recovering from brain surgery. Is this how you would like to be treated?

Please excuse my slowness in responding. I know it can be perceived as you suggest. (My original post appeared yesterday.) I can only assure you that I'm pedaling as fast as I can right now. I am working on a spreadsheet and taking photos of each item, and will respond individually to every person by late tonight (Wednesday) by Personal Messaging (PM). Unfortunately, my plate got exceedingly full yesterday when I had to go to the University of Iowa hospital for additional tests -- sometimes life gets in the way of the best intentions. I should have waited until I had everything prepared before posting.

Again, I'm truly sorry for any inconvenience I have caused you or others who responded to the post. The collection is going to find a new home, and I'm working toward that goal. Every person will be PM'd today, and treated with understanding and as an UHH friend.

Thanks, rjwallace, for expressing your concern. I will never intentionally mislead anyone.

So that you know you're dealing with a very real person, not an unscrupulous eBay scammer, my name is Jim Ellenberger (aka "kamrakid" from the old CB handle days), I live in Reinbeck, IA, and am an adjunct professor at Hawkeye Community College (digital photography). The collection will be offered for sale ONLY on UHH because I feel that I can trust you folks.

Thanks, again, to everyone for your patience. Each and every one of you who responded will get a personal message from me later today. I encourage anyone else who has interest in any of the items to PM me. I will respond!

Sincerely,
Jim

Take your time Jim! Last time I looked you were offering us a chance to look at purchase part of YOUR collection. I for one am looking forward to seeing it and hoping I can afford some of the stuff you have to offer.

Sincerely,
Dave

I can't imagine selling my collection but I guess I'll let the kids handle that after I'm gone (30 years or so from now). My real interest is the Kodak brand, anything that is pre-seventies, the older the better. But Jim as you get to it, I'm patient.

Hi Jim--no worries I am patient also, take your time. I would like to see the whole list but the things I mention 1st I am most interested. That was a Mamiya 45mm or 55m wide angle lens for the M645. Also Nikon and Minolta 35mm(Minolta manual stuff-not AF.) Filters and misc. small items, flash units and Speed graphic stuff or other similar large form cameras and vintage advertising. And later I would be interested in AF Nikon. Take your time--if you don't get to me tonight that's all right. Also I am interested in any film you would like to sell mostly B/W 35mm , 120, 31/4 x 2 1/4 or 4x5. But also interested in color if not too far out of date mostly 120. Thanks so much and please take your time. I won't be able to afford most of it any way but there might be some. Thanks so much and I hope you get feeling better soon.
