I am sure this was posted here before but, if anyone is going to be in St Louis between now and the end of the month this event is a excellent photography experience.

Went there last night and was able to get about 200 shots in. The gates open at 6:00 pm and they turn the lights on at 8:00pm.

I used a D7200 with both 10X24 and 18-140 lens (both were needed). They do not allow tripods or monopods but I used my wife's shoulder and that worked good. Started out at ISO 200 and ended up at ISO2500. Would post some examples but don't have time right now.

This is well worth the price. Have been there once during the day and 3 times at night. My husband and I went on Members Night and I went on Photographers Night. This is the only night that tri-pods and mono-pods are allowed. The price was $45 for members and $55 for non-members. However, it opened at 7:30 and closed at 10:00. The lanterns were lit at 8:00. It still wasn't quite dark enough to get good pictures and 10:00 was too early to leave.

The third night I went because our daughter and son-in-law wanted to take their 4-year-old son and they're not members. It's $26 for non-members and $13 for members. The hours that night were 9:00 to 11:00. Much better hours for getting the beautiful glow of the lanterns.

Will try to go one more night because some of my pictures were blurry.

I'm not into plants, but I joined Mo Bot a few years ago just to photograph their wonderful exhibits.
