There was a thread yesterday about how and when payments go into your PayPal account. I sold an item on ebay last night, and within minutes, the payment was in my PayPal account. I then requested that it be transferred to my bank account, which will take 2-3 days.

I'd change banks if I were you.

I'm not complaining. The other day, people wondered if PayPal holds up your payment till the buyer is satisfied. They don't. As for the "delay" in getting the money to my bank, that's not unusual, and it's not the fault of the bank.

That is their standard CYA statement meant to cover all possible situations. I requested a bank transfer from my paypal account this past Sunday, the funds were in my bank account Monday afternoon. Pretty typical, whenever I do it the funds are usually in my account either the next or second day (weekends excluded, my bank takes the weekend off).

That is how PayPal makes money. They hold your money for up to 4 days. Imagine how much money they are holding, that doesn't even belong to them, at one time - every single day! They use that money (OPM) to make money! Lots of money.

PayPal payment availability depends on the account status of the buyer.
If the payment comes from a balance in the buyer's PayPal account, availability is immediate.
If they have account transfer guaranteed by a credit card, availability is immediate.
If the payment comes from PayPal Credit, availability is immediate.
But, if for some reason the transaction is by eCheck (no credit card backup) then there will a time lag until the eCheck clears the bank.

There is also a lag when you receive a refund.

PayPal payment availability depends on the account... (show quote)

Most companies seem to wait as long as possible before paying their bills.
