This little town has a small shop that sells FANTASTIC pastries.

It will be a busy day today, going to California tomorrow, Long Beach, for a couple of weeks with my little ones, can't wait! Need to get organized, hate packing, never know what to take and ALWAYS take too much!
Sun is not up in Dallas yet, for now it's archives...a few of my friendly Red Tail Hawk who sits on our pine trees once in a while and chases the squirrels!

hmmmmm, bringing something far distant, a little closer. the moon is far distant for sure and it is getting closer to a full moon. A full moon is scheduled for this coming Friday. this is how it looked last night waxing towards fullness.
ooops, error posting, sorry!
From my deck, watching the dog walkers around the lake...
When I go out with my telephoto lens attached to my camera at this time of year I am looking for ducks. I found some Hooded Mergansers Sunday, a bit distant upstream. the first photo shows the pair. next the male Hooded merganser is standing on a submerged branch and lastly the female with her frizzed out looking hair do. This is a beautiful species and I am always thankful of having a telephoto lens whenever I see them.
Cardinal on the tree next door...

This was taken with a 50-500MM lens on a Canon 7D @ 500MM. Not bad for handheld! I forgot my tripod at home!
Wow, what a great "catch"!

SHERRIE Hm...I always thought of going WIDE for landscapes...and telephoto for getting close up ..interesting. Let me ponder this...I already have something in mind for today and might be able to try it both ways. then we can have a looksee.

Wonderful down there, we always go to Cancun...beautiful waters! Is this the resort in Akumal? Make sure you go to Playa del Carmen, lots of "photo opps" and LOTS of fun!
