Yesterday I attended an event demonstrating Studio photo lighting using a multitude of Bowens studio lighting equipment. They explained everything from settings commonly used and what the various reflectors, beauty dishes and grids do. 2 hours of in depth demonstrations with a pro model. From knowing very little I am now very informed and impressed.Event was free.
If you've never been to B&H be prepared for some heart palpitations. It is incredibly huge and they have almost every item you can imagine on display. Not one but every model from every manufacturer under the sun as well as an informed staff who are anxious to help. Leave your credit card home, this is like Vegas for photography fans

What is amazing to me going to B&H for years is the honest answers. Mid level pro camcorder guy on main floor said why buy this when for much less money you get this and more.
They also is very blunt and honest at times. It is refreshing
and their ethics and service have my 100% belief.
Recently they have not been able to go below current pricing things have changed. A few years ago being a producer having worked with great sound technicians wanted to buy reasonable sound equipment without embarrassing myself. A gentlemen walked me through a whole kit that I still have today.
They also is very blunt and honest at times. It is refreshing
and their ethics and service have my 100% belief.

If you want to see it and touch it, this is the place to go! It's a supermarket for the photographer! Well worth the trip!
