I've posted a couple images in the True Macro section, but thought I'd add them here as well. These are my early attempt at photomicroscopy - shooting through a microscope.

That was a critical tool when I took microbiology after slicing plants in a freezing microtome. I think we used eosin dye to help with the coloring.

The photo of the root tip was a prepared slide, sliced and stained. I know staining is mentioned in the book I got on microscopy, but I'm still just trying to figure out the very basics. Slide prep remains a future goal.
