sleeping bear dunes

first full week of Oct. Have stayed at Honor Motel before, but what about Lakeshore Inn at Empire, or any suggestions? Two of us, and how cool is it normal for then? Thanks for any ideas / input

Things can change rather quickly there. kjfishman's link gives you a good idea of what it should be like. If you like lighthouse photography there are several excellent ones in the area.

Yes, they do, here is one from a trip I made to Leland a couple of years ago. Also the trip to South Manitou Island is worth it, if you like hiking, exploring and be sure to take the lighthouse tour if you can.

The dunes and all of Glenn arbor area got hit very hard with the storms that rolled through several weeks ago. Parts of the area are still recovering and parts of the campground areas , trails, roads etc are still closed this week. If you plan on visiting the area I recommend you check and see if your area of interest is still open.

thanks so much for that info. I want to do the trail to Empire Bluffs, the Pierce Stocking Drive, Esch Rd and Lake Mi Rd.

Check out these 3 sites to see the extent of the damage As I stated you may want to call before leaving to check out the area as the 3rd site mentions the hiking trail will be closed for some time.
