We arrived in Brian Head, UT last night for a week of canyon photography. I grabbed this picture before I went off to bed

Very nice shot, gives me the urge to jump in the truck and head south.

Tonight after being able to plan during the day, I will be trying some panoramas

That is Gorgeous, Mark!
What were the particulars? Lens, time, ISO, blah, blah, blah...
Trying to figure out better photography for my junk. ;)
Did you light paint the foreground any?
Soh is a purdy shot! :-o
Oh. Nevermind. Afterwords I got the data fo masef. :-P
Tokina 11-16 (set at 11mm)f/2.8 ISO 4000 shutter 25 seconds. I light painted with my incandecent headlamp

Thanks Mark.
I was running 10mm, f/3.5, ISO 3200, @ 25s in the desert.
I think I want to do more time lapse runs to find my "sweet spot".
My Milky Way runs are a bit lack-luster compared to you Canon fellows.
Might be my f/stop deficiency... Or it might just be that Canon has a better sensor.
But mostly my inexperience.... ;)
We did some light painting, and got some light painting due to cars driving by.
I think I will find a place where nobody will drive by. Then set it, forget it, and wake up to dead batteries and a full card.
Nervana!
Thank You for sharing! :)
Fantastic shot, Mark! Thanks!
Edited this one to clean up the foreground, and the Milky Way seems to be in a little better position
