I am an equestrian photographer and I need a high speed professional large memory card as I can take up0 to 5000 shots a day.
What is the best brand people like to use

Is a 64 g. 800 x 90 mb up to it or would I need to go further to something like a 64 g 120 Mb card

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The reviews on Sandisk Extreme Pro are some of the best! Lexar Professional is also a very good card as well. What you have to do is find out what your camera can handle in capacity and size as well as speed it can write. I use CF type cards I shoot with 7D Canon.

I have no idea why anyone would take that many photos, even wedding photographers don't take that many. However it would depend on what camera you shoot. How many MP's ext as to what size you need.

I will say it is NEVER smart to put all your eggs in one basket. It's better to shoot on 5 cards 1000 photos each that way if a card fails (Yes they do fail) then you still have 4000 photos. Of course if you shoot something like the D800 like I do then you can shoot to two cards at once.

As far as Brands, the Lexar Pro cards are great cards, excellent customer service and have a great reputation. But you pay for quality.

Most any of the Pro cards will work well for your needs. As for speed, find out your cameras buffer write speed and get a fast enough card to accommodate that speed. Buying a 90mbs card means it's READ speed, not its WRITE speed, which is the info you need to find out to make an informed decision.

It's been a while since I have used CF cards, however, with Sandisk brand you can't go wrong.
However, seeing this statement with each of the three cards you list: "Packaging should be the same as what is available in a retail store, unless the item was packaged by the manufacturer in non-retail packaging, such as an unprinted box or plastic bag. See the seller's listing for full details"
makes me wonder where the cards came from. Considering the price, it is enough for me to NOT buy one of these (call me paranoid, if you like).

Another consideration: You don't say what camera you'll be using the cards with. Have you checked the camera's manual to see what cards are recommended?
Many cameras will take cards that are faster than the ones recommended by the camera manufacturer, but I have seen instances where the camera would not.

Sandisk is very reliable. The speed is separate from the capacity.

The size of your files will determine what size card you need.

Also CF cards tend to be faster than SD cards.

Look in your manual to find the read and write speed of the camera and how many files of each type will go on different size cards.

Match the speed of you camera to an appropriate speed of the card otherwise you will be paying for speed that can't be used by the camera.

that is the most I have ever taken at an event with 430
Riders... I sell many but just want to upgrade to have a better memory card

The second two links appears to be identical. The 32 gig and 64 gig seem to have the same specs, which is about as fast as available on a compact flash today I believe. In fact I have the 64 gig version you linked to on order and it should be arriving today.

Are you sure those are the best prices available down under? I did a currency conversion and the 64 gig card I'm getting here in New Jersey will cost $99 USD or $134 AUD. The 32 gig version is $59.95 USD or $81 AUD. I know prices on consumer goods don't convert directly and maybe this is the best you can do, but I wanted to mention it to you.

I do not believe that Ebay is the best place to purchase memory cards. The risk is much higher that cards are not as legitimate as the seller wants you to think.

Memory cards are one of the easiest electronic items to bootleg or repackage. Horror stories of legitimate cards that are relabeled to be a higher GB than they actually are, etc. For the savings in price and the possibility that you will only find out after the card fails... buy from a reputable dealer.

So, if you purchase CF cards, first of all make sure they are Type I. Your camera cannot use Type II or hard-disk type cards. (A camera I had a number of years ago, could use the hard-disk type cards, but when I saw the price, I pretty near fainted - never bought one!).

CF (CompactFlash) cards * Type I, UDMA mode 7-compatible.
SD/SDHC*/SDXC* memory cards * UHS-I cards supported

Page 34: Ultra DMA (UMDA) CF cards may be used, they "enable faster data writing" although it doesn't say faster than what.
SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards are supported. UHS-I SDHC or SDXC memory cards can also be used.

From this information, I'd say you can buy the fastest cards with the largest capacity of these types that you can find (and afford).
