This is a brilliant yellow flower with the most distinctive rays. The background wasn't conducive in color, but it doesn't look half bad in monochrome.

Thanks Earnie. There seems to be an ever-changing landscape of wildflowers that change from week to week. It's fun finding the new ones.

Thanks gramcracker. The flower blossoms seem almost finely "etched" against the background ..... I loved the effect.

Thanks Bob. I was just admiring your flower work a few minutes ago ..... that and a magnificent Pileated Woodpecker to top it off.

Download is very pretty. Black and white was a good idea.

Thanks Erich. I have always liked the distinct drama it gives fairly simple blossoms.

Very nice Bob. The flowers would have been completely lost in all of that dense, green, in focus foliage.
Your B&W treatment isolates the flowers and makes them the subject. Beautiful.

Thanks Psergei. You put the finger on my dilemma straighaway - bright yellow and green/chartreuse are too close in hue to differentiate much.
