In our town we have a Gladiolas Festivity. there used to be a lot of farmers that grew Gladiolas. There is still many that raise them. The Glade Fest has been running for 75 years. It's a big deal. It runs for 5 days. There are 3 parades. Live entertainment every night. Flee market and of course a beer tent. Theirs a jr. queen and the Gladiolas Queen. They even draw The Jessie White tumbling team.
Good set Jim. Looks like a lot of fun.

thanks Frank. It a lot of fun.
Hi, Jim, what a coincidence!! I recall the Glad Fests and hated to see the drum and bugle competition drop out of all the festivities. Still like the old car shows on 'the island', though.
I left there right out of HS and joined the Army in 1960. I go back and visit every now and then. I often wonder what my life would have been like if I hadn't made a career of the Army and had gone back to work at -- say, Baker and Taylor(sp?) maybe...!?
I like your pics of the parade. I have many buried away somewhere from years gone by.
Maybe we can meet up some day....
Just message me when ever your coming to town and we will get together.
Very cool sequence of the jump! Very cool!

Thanks Sylvia. There were one or two of these little people in each of the parades. They are only about 4 feet tall.

Nice images. I especially enjoyed the acrobatics. Looks like you had a great time. I think there is great merit in capturing the local events. Well done.
