I have been using Win 10 for months, now I have installed the finished product.
I have found no problems as yet everything works fine that includes Edge and Cortana.
There's always will be some one who will look for problems however small.
I am nearly 80 and if I can handle this new OS, anybody can, just get on with it and stop looking for something to criticise just for the sake of it.
Just because it looks different to XP, Vista and W7 there is no need to condemn Win10 out of hand.

I think you will find there are many advantages along with some disadvantages that can be worked around.

Not knowing your OS is a disadvantage to answer your question.

Windows 10 is more generally more cloud based. It is also the way of the future. I think you will find it faster and smoother to operate then older the versions of windows and in general is a lot friendlier since it as used Some of Windows 7 and 8.1.

My personal feeling, aside from John is that it anyone how is used to using W7 and has mastered W8. will have no problems using it. I also think in a short while, the older formats will go with the way of XP meaning they will no longer be supported. They have built an operating system that they build off of and they will only go forward from here.

If you look back at this forum you will find the same negative remarks just before Windows 7 was first introduced. Some people just need to provide the negative view no matter what the subject.

While Kim Komandos job is to generate viewers, and she is well respected, her intentions are not to trash the new system. She is simply pointing out the inevitable bugs that make it through the beta tests.

I have switched to Windows 10 and although it is working and seems to be faster than Windows 7 pro 64 bit. I got switched to a 32 bit operation. I have given the feedback to MS, but they have not responded as of yet. On the MS feedback pages several other people have voiced the same issue.

I really want to be operating on my Lenovo 64 bit machine as it was intended to operate. Have any of you Hogs experienced the same issue? If you have have you been able to correct it? If so, how?

I had sort of the opposite problem with an XP laptop. I went through the whole installation process, and then it said that I needed the 32-bit version, and I had installed the 64-bit version. I'm surprised it waited for the installation to complete to mention that.

Clicked the link, read the assembled words, assess it as very poor reporting of nothing particularly important. First and foremost, the title says "5 Issues with Windows 10". In the text there is absolutely nothing to illustrate what those 5 issues are. There's even a complaint about Windows 10 freezing but that might be hardware or 3rd party software. WTF?! The entire article is rambling nonsense that a journalism student would get an F on.

My assessment. You'd be better off getting Windows 10 information from the North Korean government than Kim Komando.

1. She reports that the Start Menu, a feature Microsoft brought back for Windows 10, crashes or is slow about once a day.

2. The Edge browser - the replacement for Internet Explorer - "needs work," according to the columnist. She says it "has trouble running some websites," like Gmail

3. Not all applications worked perfectly for the Fox columnist on the Windows 10 upgrade. This isn't terribly surprising, as software companies are rushing to optimize their products for the new operating system.

4. Windows 10 freezes, she alleges, but acknowledges that she's not sure if it's the operating system, the hardware, or third-party software causing the problem. Windows 10 does have some issues, though,

5. Lastly, the Fox columnist isn't quite getting along with Cortana, the digital assistant akin to Apple's Siri. She's found dictating emails an issue with Cortana.

Note:
1. I personally have found the Old Start Window to be very slow when calling it up.

2. When enter your Pass Code on start up, it will often not delete the old one when you make a mistake and try it again.

3, System Up date can not be turned off. When I am on my Internet on Go. with a 3 GB limit. along some Interstate do I really need the latest update taking up what little bandwidth and GB I have left.

Try and back up and restore you system.

These are my observation in New York, Don't know how things work out there at elevation.

I enjoy the program over all. Just some things bother me.

Yea, my Sister in Law Had to take hers to some computer guy out there in Utah. Same problem. I don't know if it was a glitch in the down load or what the problem was. She tried working with Microsoft and after a few days of this and that she just folded it up and brought it in to have it done. I can understand some folks having problems. I mean look at all the different platforms out there along with all the software mixed in. Then add in all the different drivers for screens, Mice, Printers and what have you. I'm surprised it even works most of the time...

Some video cards haven't been upgraded for Win 10, or really upgraded for much of anything.
My gamer I use for photo editing gets upgrades from the video card company several times a year. I figure if it will run 3D games better with the upgrades it should handle PP software without even getting warmed up real good.
My wife's 10 year old Dell Optiplex 620 got warnings about video from the upgrade check. Then some upgrades for the video came for Win 7 and the warnings went away.
Yesterday it upgraded to Win 10 Pro without a hitch. It is running noticeably faster now also.
Last week I took it apart and cleaned all the contacts, ran anti virus and anti malware, did a system cleaning and defrag etc. It is running better than it has for years. I am going to put in a SSD for her "C" and a bigger HDD (faster also 7200rpm) for her "D" drive. I will just clone the system over to the new drives with Acronis.

There is a reason it is referred to as "Preventive Maintenance".

Just a little update on Windows 10 problems. I finished install on Windows 10 on my wifes machine from Windows 7. Turns out that this cry baby is again cursing Microsoft. A clinch that Microsoft is aware of but has told anyone. The Task Bar is dead. Nothing. No response , and no walk around. If you can't launch any of your base programs, what good is it, you now have a paper weight. Microsoft reports that there working on it and hope to have a fix. Also note that the start menu as promised is missing. Also to be fixed. Guess free is always the best choice.
