Installing setups from external backup file

I am preparing my PC for Win 10 installation. I use Acronis to backup my three drives, OS (C:/), Images (B:/) and E:/ (Other Data). I'm considering doing a clean install, then use the files from my B & E drives to upload & install data, including previously installed programs.
After a clean install of Win 10, is it possible to reinstall programs from my "downloads folder" of my backup of former C:/ stored, on an external drive in an Acronis backup file?
Any suggestions/advice or info is greatly appreciated.

Depends on the program. If the install file is in your downloads folder, it will probably be okay unless your existing version won't work under Windows 10. If it was originally installed from a CD/DVD, you'll need the original software.

Thanks Nick. That is also my thinking. Most of my installed programs are digital downloads. Good to have it confirmed.
