Most systems seem to be late and over budget.
Look at the process and you will see why.
That said many of our best defensive systems today have been over budget and late but are now paying for themselves many times over.
No other country so far even comes close inspite of what democrats and obama are doing.

If you're are referring to weapon systems or the military in general, I would appreciate some specific examples. Thnx

F15, F16, Osprey, Super Carriers, down to the M-16.
I used both the 14 and 16. Love them both and both when used and maintained as intended operate superbly. I did melt a barrel of the M-16 on one mission.
I am sure there are many other systems oh yes I would put the M1 Abrams in that category. All successes. No F15 flown by the USA or Israel has ever been shot down by an enemy fighter, last I heard. That is a pretty good record.

Except for Lockheed, there is very little cheering going on over the F-35.

According to Lockheed, the final cost, in a few years, should be $85 million each. Right now, I read anywhere from $120 - $180 million each.

That is the issue. If the government decides this pig isn't going to fly, what happens to Lockheed? So, we have to keep pouring tax dollars into an aircraft that may not be suitable for use anywhere, but we'll keep Lockheed afloat.
