Adobe Cloud subscription options

I have received an email from a survey company which starts as follows:

"Adobe Systems Incorporated has asked International Planning and Research in partnership with Questback to conduct a study regarding Adobe Creative Cloud Subscription options. The survey should take about 15-20 minutes to complete."

As I got well into the survey, the tone changed from the usual how do you find things to "If the price goes up, will you cancel your subscription and buy a perpetual licence or will you cancel your subscription and use a rival supplier?"

The survey shows the subscription prices - but not the prices I pay now. I presently pay for the Photography Package £8.57 per month including tax. The survey shows £10.00 per month and does not mention tax. All the prices shown indicate an increase in subscription rates starting at 14% (if the prices include tax) or 40% if they do not include tax.

Some or all subscription payers may have received the same email, what do you make of this?

Sounds like someone might be getting ready to jack up the prices. I also bet they figure since you are already a cloud user you will accept the shaft.

I think they kept the price steady until affinity hit the market and now are trying to get a feel for how many would jump ship.

I get the same survey every quarter. They have been sending it out since CC hit the market.

Maybe sent to a select list or perhaps randomly or maybe UK only?
I have never received a survey from Adobe like Searcher is describing. ;)

Possibly. I am a "member" of their "Adobe Community."

Same here, but this is the first survey I have received which is targeting prices.

There are several screen which draw you into the survey, followed by sixteen screens which cater for the products and all their price configurations, at which point I stopped filling it in to work out a "filling in strategy".

If any price hike amounts to 14%, I would accept it but 40% is a definite no-no for me.

I just did a search on all my emails for adobe and found all the surveys. They do come pretty close to once per quarter.

I checked three of them, July 2013, March 2014, and this one, and they all pretty much are the same. All asked about price and theoretical increases, etc.

A price increase is inevitable. It will be how it is done and how much it is that will be the questions. There is a lot of value in the Lightroom and Photoshop package. For some, it is indispensable and they would surely pay a lot more. Others will find alternatives.

I have received what seems the same thing here in NZ.
Haven't gone to the survey to find out what the emails are on about but sounds the same.

I recently dropped the Adobe LR/PS CC package, and what an ordeal to stop the monthly credit card charges. Pretty sure they do this to deter people from quitting. You cannot drop out of the service online-you MUST make a phone call.
I never did use LR and PS much, and recently bought DXO Optics pro, which I found much easier to use.

Adobe will eventually raise prices and they are exploring the possible blow back for proper timing.

CS6 is what I use but not exclusively. To me its like swatting flies with a 2x4.

I don't need or use most of the features. Even at $10/month its not worth it.
