Had to go out this AM to see if the runt has become airborne yet. The short answer is "NO". He (or she, I now suspect) is still in the nest while big brother and first hatched big sister are out and about. Mom and big brother were close by today while I was there; but Dad and Sis were nowhere to be found. My guess is that Dad took daughter out for a fishing lesson.
Five images with captions, so be patient. All were shot with my D5200 and Tamron 150-600. Handheld. Some slight cropping was done on a couple of the shots. Otherwise pretty much SOOC.
Enjoy!
The Runt looking confused and lonely. "Why oh why can't I fly?"
Big brother coming in to keep little brother company. No bullying!
Touchdown. Big brother to the rescue.
Mom nearby but not for long. She has to make sure the 2 littlest ones are not up to no good.
Mom in the middle now. That's the runt on her left and number 2 on her right. I have no idea who delivered the fish!

Thanks, Mike. I plan to keep going as long as they remain close to the nest.

Thanks, Angela. They are such a fun bunch. Each of the 3 chicks has a distinct personality. Even their body language differs. As of 8PM tonight, the runt still has not fledged.

Thanks, Sylvia. They are something to see now that 2 of them are airborne. The middle one has difficulty landing. Poor big sister is usually right in his glide path and just cringes as he comes in over her head.
