Lens cleaning tissues.
On the good tips here for lens cleaning tissues I went to Wally World. I don't feel like I got what you good folk here were talking about. In the optical dept. there were 21 individully sealed wipes in a box of 21 for ~$4. At the jewelry dept. was one reseal able package of 20 pre-moistened anti-static & fog tissues for $1. All stated they good for lenses. In my heart, I just dont think either of these are what you folk are referring to. Can someone be a bit more explicit for what I need to look for? Thanks
"Zeiss Lens Cleaning Wipes Pre-moistened". They are in a blue and white box in the Wal-Mart VisionCenter. the UPC code on the bottom is: 62834 50058
Thanks. These were NOT in my W-M local Vission center. I'll keep looking around.
I love those things! Works well for cleaning laptop screen too :)

Now that right there is funny I don't care what you say.
Johanna, they are in the photo/computer department at my Walmart. Apparently different stores stock them in different places.
only one's that i find in my local wal... are Bausch & Lomb half to try a different walmart
We buy big boxs of ZEISS at Sams Club.
Basic lens cleaning tools are a blower, a microfiber cloth, and lens cleaning fluid (my favorite: Zeiss). Try to blast dust off the lens with the blower or canned air. Finger prints can be removed with a circular wipe of the new miracle micro fiber cloth (my favorite brand is Pentax because it is nice and thick; about $6). Persistent dirt should be removed with lens cleaning fluid, of which the safest is probably Kodak. Always drip the fluid onto the cloth and then wipe the lens; never put fluid directly onto a lens.
Can these wipes be used on both ends of the lens..the one connected to camera as well???

Just remember that photo lens cleaning tissues (like the Zeiss) are best, in part, because they are designed not to affect the lens coating.
I still prefer a micro-fiber cloth and my breath - if the blower or brush fails.
On the other hand, maybe someone knows the chemical contents of the average person's breath and knows a reason it shouldn't be used? Is it affected by garlic and onions?
the lens tissues have a very strong heady smell when you open the sealed pack. I have heard that some young ppl breath in that smell to get some sort of drug high. has anyone else heard that ??
