my canon s5is screens turned black, photos are very dark

any know the reason my canon s5 turned black in the screens...And the photos look good till I go back an they are some what black.

I don't have a clue, but P&S models change as fast as dirty underwear so I kind of doubt it.

About 6 years.i was a daily shooter of birds, flowers an scenic ....Live in farm country an it was a daily thing here. Drove my late hubby bonkers.

Check with Canon. There are recalls on some models. I just recently had my old A95 repaired for free. Canon even paid for the shipping.

I tryed to reset my camera to factorysettings yesterday.
Results.....some sort of bar fell diagonal on the small view finder.
And shows no scene at all in the large screen..Guess were dead.
