I have been playing with these for about 4 weeks now. A little sawing and a little carving. Not to great, but fun to do. Now I just have to get the chainsaw to do better work.:) 4 pieces I just finished.

The 'dime tip' bar is almost mandatory for carving with a chainsaw.... Nice work(fun) and photo's are well done too!

Nice work Erv. The only thing I do with the chain saw is fall and buck. I'd say you're well past the novice stage on carving.
Cheers, Neil

Hi Scott. I did break down and get a carving bar. But I am still using a big saw and it gets pretty heavy.:) Thank you for the kind reply. I just started to try this and it is a fun thing to do. I just have to try and get more details.
