Moon and Venus tonight, 7-18-15

By shear chance, I happened to be outside tonight when I noticed that the moon and Venus were (apparently) so close together. I could tell that in a few minutes the view would be obstructed by some trees, so rushed back in to mount camera on tripod, then quickly back outside. Luckily, I had time to capture some decent shots before my subjects disappeared behind the trees. All were taken with Sigma 120-400 at 400 mm, ISO 640, moderate cropping.

Very nice. Did you shoot these with manual settings, if so then what kind of shutter speed and f-stops.

Nice captures. I saw the moon last night with a bright star next to it. I was out of the city where the lights were not as bright so could see the moon (and Venus) easily. Thanks for posting.

These were shot with camera on "A", or aperture value, with exposure biased at -2/3. All were shot at f6.3 with exposure times of .4 sec, .5 sec, and .6 sec respectively. Thanks for taking a look.
