This is a wedding photography, but I had to share the news ..........
Bought my first FF camera today. A Canon 6D .........
Also bought my first 'L' glass, the stock 24-105 f/4L IS
Had to share a snap from this evening :)
Who says you can't snap fast moving targets with a 6D?
Truthfully it didn't focus as well as my 70D does on hummers but for weddings it will be just fine :)
Yes, the 6D takes great pictures of moving things, it is the fact you have to go back to the old fashioned way: prefocus, wait and expect a lot of non-keepers. Unless you get the timing just right, you did.
Progress report on the Yongnuo YN600? I am thinking a buying one, or two, my daughter doesn't have a decent flash either.
Last Saturday when it was too late to go get anything I got told that the photographer for our friend's wedding came down ill or something and could all of us with decent cameras bring them and do our best to make up for it. Never mind I do birds, landscapes and trains with a rare portrait, let alone something like a wedding, I had orders. Myself with my 6D and 7DII, my daughter with her T2i, one a6000, a sony bridge camera and a bushel basket of cell phones and iPads plus three camcorders. While the light lasted (outdoors, ceremony at 7PM) my 6D got more than a few good shots with the 24-105. Then the sun went down, my only flash is a little EX220, I think I may have fried it, it was very erratic in output towards the end. And during the dancing I had to switch to the 7DII for the extra reach. Getting in close to a bunch of Persians doing wedding dances is not a good idea, or easy to do in a poorly lit and crowded patio.

Not sure how that compares to a Greek Orthodox wedding with the traditional dancing, but arms were flying everywhere.

The tail and part of the body are incredibly sharp. You know as well as I do that Hummingbird photos involved a lot of luck. I've seen much MUCH worse posted by people who got all kinds of praises in the photo gallery, so I sure wouldn't complain about what you got here. Beautiful color rendition too.

Actually Hummers are one of my specialties ....... I can snap with the best of them in this department.

Not me, I have 4 Rose of Sharon bushes, and they draw hummers like crazy. I think out of the hundreds of attempts, I have maybe one or two that aren't just plain embarrassing. Part of my problem is that I can't stand sitting still for that long. They must learn to realize that I want to take their photos NOW, dang it!
