Easy Rider

Was sitting on a town bench in the center of Province Town, doing what a person with a camera does. This bike so impressed me. The rider could have been riding a Hog. For your consideration and reviews.

I love your processing work here, Bill. Kind of gritty and harsh. I get a sense of a free spirited loner (a bit of a bad boy? :) ) in his element. I'm generally not that into "people" pictures, but this really catches my fancy!

Really nice work here, Bill - I'm usually a fan of "lone biker" shots in general, and this one makes me wish I was that guy. The slight downward angle of the road combines with the rider's flying hair to create a sufficient sense of motion, and the background elements balance the composition nicely, imo.

There are 2 things I would change were it my shot:
- lose the "SALE" sign entirely
- blur your colored guy headshot to match his surroundings (a clever touch :), but looks too "pasted in" due to its sharp focus)

A fun and engaging shot - I want those tires!

Those tires were something else, now I see there selling them like in Wally World. When I was a kid, those tires would have been tops. LOL

Thank you for the tips.

Linda I know you would like it even better if I had put a big eagle perched on his handle bars. LOL Thanks for the comments.

Fabulous treatment of this shot Bill. Fantastic capture, you must have been on the ready. The back ground for me is what makes this shot so good. You could not have snapped at a better time catching him in between the two buildings by the alleyway. Dr.db has caught the only thing I might also change. The sale sign doesn't bother me but the non black and white face does. Is that you Bill? If that's your signature that's Hitcocksh, I would just change it to B & W. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Thank you Frank, I actually thought I was going to miss him. I saw going behind a van, hoping be clear of it before he passed. Thanks again. Bill

This is a really good catch. Lots of character in the subject and nicely treated in black and white. There is a real sense that the artist put some of himself in this work.

I have to ask - is the self-portrait a watermark? And, what significance do the words have? S-

Yes, it is a water mark. It was place on the center of an existing sign - the words around the out side say " First Name in the Water" What was in the center I do not know.

Great street shot. It takes a fast eye and an even faster finger to capture a shot like this. Well done!
