Please don't make fun of all the dust and debris on the Lens and Filter.
I was using the club 14" and it needs a major service on the optics.
I shot this with the Canon T2i conversion to Hydrogen-alpha.
Converted to B&W and processed in Lightroom and Topaz Detail3.
3910 mm focal length (f/11), ISO 100, 1/10 sec.

Thank you very much Jim H be sure to get a good Baader filter or equiv.
I bought an inexpensive one and regret it.

That looks better than what I got my one and only (so far) try.
I was using my eyepiece camera (video) and didn't have enough time to play with it that day.
Now, it's just too danged hot during the day.
 Wah! ;)

Thank you Sonny, that 14" is a fun scope. I'll have to get together with the Club Pres. and get it cleaned up.

Man, 14"! HUGE!
That's about the diameter of a 90 pound grease drum isn't it?
I discovered I have "Points" at Amazon. So I used some to order a Badder Solar filter for my 80mm.
Trouble is... it's on a slow boat from China. :(
Might be here the middle of next month. :-(

It will be worth the wait.

What kind of filter did you use for these shots?
Nice detail even with the dust bowl remnants.

Thanks Jim, we used a Baader filter and we're in the process of getting a new one for the club.
And I'm going to get together with the Club Leader to cleanup the optics.
It all takes time when dealing with others to participate.
I look forward to using the 14" in late summer when the night time fog clears.

I think winter and the horse head nebula might be a good target as well.
That my friend is a lot of scope.
