I want to print 10x8

Using the 10x8 template in the print module I can only print to
10x7.75 because LR insists on minimum margins .

I intend the mount the photo on a 10x8 FotoSpeed Fotoblock which is slightly undersized to allow for trimmings but not 1/4 inch

Anything I can do about this to get a full 10x8 print

Your printer needs to be set to print borderless, then the margins and cell size can be set in the print model to what ever you want.

Hi,

Thanks I will give that a go, at the moment LR does not want to allow that , presume that once I have altered the printer settings that will change

Alter the printer settings from within LR, in the Print Module, left hand side "Page Set Up". Choose Properties or Preferences and this takes you to the printer set up controls.

Tunbridge Wells, but only for the rest of this year. I am planning a move to the North; around Cumbria, Northumberland, Yorkshire and Scotland.

I'm not usually totally pleased with prints done directly from LR, but yesterday I found a preset that allows LR to set itself to borderless. It still wasn't totally borderless, but it was pretty close!

Hi,

I managed to sort of achieve this by checking the paper selection of A4 borderless. Only problem is that the full photo is not printing , it has exceeded the borderless borders . I found that using the templates stopped this .
Does not seem that user friendly but I must admit that it does an amazing job on the interpolation needed to fill etc so must not complain too much .
What do you use to print when not using LR

Printing from LR sucks. It's not user friendly and I'd suggest that you finish editing your image in LR, then export the jpg and them open the jpg with another easy to use program and print from there. If I knew what other programs you had, I'd tell you exactly what you should use but don't use LR for printing. I am pretty proficient at LR and I've tried to print from it several times only to spend an hour trying and giving up. I've been computing since the days of DOS and know what I'm doing too.

Have to disagree with you on this. I find it easy and pretty much intuitive. Having used Laura Shoe's "Producing Great Output" DVD training for LR5, was a big help.
Yes, there are simpler solutions out there for printing a quick 4x6 or 8x10, but not with the added flexibility to place multiple images on one sheet of paper, along with comments, titles, gutter spacing adjustments, etc. YMMV

Hi,

Can really see both points of view here, I am also getting used to the print module courtesy of Laura Shoe and , yes , LR capabilities are very impressive , the issue seems to be if you dont use the templates and want to print, seems very messy. Mind you I have more trouble with printing than any other piece of software I use.

In response to your query I am using :

Photoshop (just got it ) and lightroom
On1 photo software and
Open Office

Any printing suggestions are most welcome.
