Can power lines be removed in ELEMENTS? I have that but not PhotoShop. Thanks for your input.

I kind of sounded like a smart ass, didn't I? Sorry.

Just use your spot healing tool.

One of the problems with photographing our church is the power lines that droop in front. A member of our congregation took a picture and removed the lines in PS Elements. I'll ask him how he did it and request permission to post his photo.

Very easily with the Clone tool set on "content aware".

Some folks are sooo helpful and then some are real helpful. I had a similar issue, put the pic on UHH and someone was kind enough to fix the pic and then send me a link to instructions.

The band-aid may work for spots and thin wires but the "stamp" is the clone tool.

With either you need to first Alt-click in where you want the cloning to start from...not yet on the wire but in what you'd like the wire to be replaced with. Then you move the mouse and click and drag across the line. If you start getting stuff you don't want you need to redo the start point for the cloning. The source is tracking along as you clone on the wire.

It will paint sky, trees, walls, whatever depending on the context and where you started. It's pretty smart but takes a little practice. Once you are on to it you'll find it fantastic!

I don't use Elements or PS, but one of my lower level processing programs includes a plugin called "Wire Worm". It's made specifically for your problem, and works like a charm. I would guess that it might be available separately if you search for it by name.

Use the clone stamp tool. It takes a while to get use to and removing wires, depending on how many and there background can take some time. Here is a photo I removed 2 wires from. First is original, second when I was done. In the second shot you can bairly see where they were if you do a blow up of the photo.

I have used a program called Inpaint. Either really cheap or free (I forget!). I use a Mac, btw..soo, not sure if it works with PC. It's been great for my purposes!

I've always thought someone should invent a camera filter for power lines. Just screw it on the lens, look through the viewfinder and the power lines are gone. Anybody up for the challenge?
