Without getting boring or asking a redundant question...If you had the choice of these two and just these two cameras (keeps down my confusion) which would you pick for a bridge and please don`t say neither. A Fuji S1 or HS50. And being manual is the HS50 going to work for poor vision(as corrected as I can afford)Thank you

under stood let me add a few requirements....iq between both cameras...build....and though its a small sensor is the iq on the long end better..I am trying not to be picky but I only have $300 to pick up a camera that will be my back up. I have a FZ200 as my go to...I recognize your photo and appreciate your time. What would you buy is my question. It would be darn nice to hold both these pieces of equiptment and that's impossible so your expertize is most appreciated

Am not directly familiar with either camera you asked about. I do have an alternative suggestion, but I respect your request not to muddy the waters.

Do you mean the Olympus SH50? I have one with 2 spare batteries I'll be glad to sell. Only used it once and it's just like brand new

Easy question - read comparisons, and see what each has to offer compared to the other. You might be surprised.

EDIT: Wow! Very close in snapsort, but the 50 seems to have the edge.

Both are Fujifilm. It took me a while to figure that out.

I really like the manual zoom. Its not good for video, manual zoom is too jerky, but you can snap zoom back to quickly locate a subject you have lost.

I have not used the S1.

I have the HS50EXR. When the S1 came out I compared all of the specs with the thought of "upgrading", and came to the conclusion the HS50 suits me better. If it ever goes belly-up I would replace it with the same, unless there is a change in others. If by manual you are referring to the focus there are two options. Put it on "focus peak highlight" and when focus is reached all objects are outlined in highlight. Also, push the AE/AF button and listen for the beep - there will be some false ones, but overall it works for me. Also, you can set it for "focus check", and it zooms in to enlarge for manual focusing. Lightly press the shutter button to return to actual view.

The only reservation I have on the camera is the small sensor requires more light, and any ISO over 400 is pretty noisy.

I hope all this helps. If you have any other questions just ask, and feel free to PM.

Cheers, Neil
