I strongly recommend that you acquire a much larger diffuser face, spaced a bit farther from speedlight lens. The larger the diffuser face, the softer the light. Your DIY diffuser does not diffuse wide enough. There is still too much directionality to your illumination. I recommend the FotoDiox (or similar) 6x8-inch softbox diffuser, which costs less than $10.
