Got lucky again. Live fly stack taken at about 2:1. Tamron SP 90 with Kenco 2x, SB 800 with Fotodiox 6x8 diffuser, 15 frames acquired with the focus ring.
Tiny Snipe fly about 4mm- Family Rhagionidae

Excellent work NP! Very clean stack with good illumination. There is real benefit to using the focusing ring. Is the Tamron internal focus or does it telescope out?
Nicely done!

Your live stacks are pretty darn good

Thanks for your encouragement, A-PeeR. The Tamron SP 90 telescopes out. I got the itch to try the 2x teleconverter after seeing what BobR has been posting. This set-up is still a work in progress. It needs a lot of light. This shot was taken with the SB 800 and the 6x8 diffuser mounted on hot shoe.

Thanks for looking & commenting. Live stacking is a lot of fun, WHEN it works. A little frustrating when you run a stack & end up with an insect with 4 antennas & 10 legs.

Retouching in Zerene can sometimes help with those extra parts;) Nice shot

Well, because of you and BobR, I just ordered a Tamron 2X TC to play with :| ;)
That is a brilliant stack NP and those green eyes so well focused. You must be very proud of it.
