Just wanted to let you know I received this lens last week. I am thrilled. It is so sharp. Like any lens with a large aperture of 1.4 you have to be careful when focusing, but I have been successful in getting really sharp images. I took some pictures of my Grandson playing tennis and they came out so nice. I have a Sigma 50mm f/1.4, and the Canon 100mmL and now the Sigma 85mm. I have the Sigma 18-300 also. Plus the pancake lens, and Canon 10-18mm, Canon 17-55 mm. I think I have a pretty good range. My favorite is my 100mm, and the 85mm. Most used is the 17-55 (Which I also really like). I purchase the Canon Powershot SX710 HS for times when I don't want to carry all my gear. It is also a great camera. So, there is my review.

Tracy B, it's very nice to read a post from someone who sounds very comfortable with where she is and with what she has. While you do have some over-lap of focal lengths each lens has a range of it's own and gives you great versatility. Sound like fun for you. GL

You will love the Sigma 85mm 1.4. Sigma makes some great lens.
I have the 50mm 1.4 on my Nikon D300 and love it.

I have been really happy with all my Sigma lenses.
Will you post some of those sharp images for us?

It was very thoughtful of you to take the time to post this for us. While I have a different 85mm, I do find this particular size to be my go to for several types of photos and I also find the fixed lens to be far superior than any of my zooms. Thanks for sharing. It seems you have pretty good coverage.
