Make your own Selfies...
Not green screen, not magic wand.
Many of the photos I use there is NO easy way to use a person.
Copy Layer >>> Turn off original
On copy Use Eraser Tool
Best way I have found is to blow up image of person to actual pix...
And use Eraser tool ! Erase eveything not wanted using a flat brush not more then 200 pt size. Just get close to the person >>> not to close your far from done.
To make this easier you want to make a solid color layer... move picture of person above solid color layer < color you choose depends on the colors you are trying to erase >
Now ! Blow image up 300 % and use Eraser tool at 5 pt on any air brush for the close up cleaning.
I have used this techique on 5 different programs... Works fine...
Always remember to save in TIFF to use again or to keep cleaning !

Usually ! takes me about 5 hours to make this Perfect !
In the learning stage 50 hours easy >>> Never... Rush !

Very creative! I like.

I use pretty much the same process on my "Arabian Horse portraits," changing out backgrounds.

I am in the process of doing a website and some are photos for clients of their horses. These are not "fantasy backgrounds" I am using, but you have got me thinking about that!

Mostly they are taking photos at shows and eliminating the ugly arenas as a background.
I use special effects for backgrounds sometimes, but nothing really unusual. It is just similar processing to what you wrote that you use.

I like what you are doing because you use your imagination and have created your own style. Using your selfies is unique with a little bit of that, "trans humanism" thrown in there. Yours reminds me of some of the things on "Deviant Art." Very creative graphic artists on that site. Many are talented professional artists creating book and album covers, etc. Many use photos and processing to create the unusual and I like all that "different kind of talent."

You said you might be interest... used pink as a solid color layer because of all the other colors going on... behind the horse layer is clear... i wanted to share... this took about 20 mintues... pixel size was small. A 15 meg a pixel image for extrem detail takes about 5 to 10 hours. then add new background layer ... resize first layer using trasform scale or in other programs distort
