Male Cardinal Feeds His Mate

Images are a bit on the soft side...birds were some 50 feet away and the branches did not help...heavily cropped...enjoy

Nice series. I think, and I have been known to be wrong, what you have captured is a male Cardinal feeding his almost fully grown youngster. Their offspring will beg to be fed for some time after leaving the nest.

Nice photos. I think that is probably correct. I watched a parent hairy woodpecker feed its almost grown youngsters from the suet feeder - they were waiting 12 inches away and couldn't apparently figure out that they could help themselves...

I have observed that a young bird(s) will perch in the trees fluttering its wings while the adult obtains seed or suet from a feeder to feed it.
