I have no dog in the gay marriage fight. It does not affect my life in any way one way or the other. But the vitriol I have read here by the self-proclaimed christians makes a great case for not wanting to ever be a part of such a cruel and mean-spirited "religion."
SBW, Idaholover, and a few others are sad old men whose limited intellect and small vocabulary only allow them to call people names rather than make a case for their position.
They are not Christians at all.

May I ask, have you accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as you personal savior? Do you confess that Jesus is God in the flesh and that He came as man, being in the flesh to die for your sin. Do you or have you repented of your sin and in doing so, are you willing to live your life for Christ Jesus? Do you believe in your heart that Jesus died on the cross , was buried and was resurrected by God to eternal Glory and that by Christ abiding in you through the Holy Spirit will also resurrect you in God's good time.
If this is true with you then you have the right to judge your brothers in Christ. If you deny Christ, He also will deny you. It is not what you say that matters but what God says that counts. Always test the message by the Spirit and by God's word.

Don't be misled, Captain. Being homosexual is not a sin. The homosexual act, however, is. I don't know who these people are, but they are misconstruing aspects of the Law no longer being in effect meaning God's prohibitions against homosexuality are no longer in affect. 1 Cor. 6:9-10 is rather specific about those whose lives are marked by specific sins. The NASB is a translation that attempts to be as close to a literal translation of the Greek as possible.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor ]effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
As much as some might want to twist what the words say, Captain, you really cannot get away from what they say. God does not single out the homosexual, either. Sexual sin of all types is included.
What is a Godly homosexual to do? Do what Timothy advises in 2 Timothy 2:22.
2 Timothy 2:22 New International Version (NIV)
22 Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

I used to - but then I got to know more Christians. Could not get away from them fast enough.
From what I see here, no distance is far enough.
If SBW and IdahoLover are samples of your religion,it is a sick one.

Well, Captain.....I'll level with ya. I've run from some, too. Even some who were important in my life. But they are merely human and still liable to sin (and I'm not talking about the sins listed in I Cor.) I'm sure that my acerbic attitude turns some people off. Keep your eyes on Jesus and those saints who come along every great while who you just know are walkin' with God.

I don't know if they are true believers in Christ or not. I don't speak for them. I doubt that it was Christians that turned you away. Maybe you only thought that you were a Christian. If you were one of us then you would have remained with us. You would have abided in the love of Jesus and He would dwell within you. Jesus would never lose one that was truly his.
Sorry that you feel the way you do about Christians but as one who follows Jesus, I must stay with the word of God.

There is a Christian forum on UHH but it doesn't get used much: Still worth a look though. You might see some familiar names all dressed in their Sunday best!
I don't think I've ever heard such unbridled hate since the gay marriage decision came down. The "christians" have trouble understanding, questioning whether it includes incest, rape, pedophilia, polygamy, animals, etc. - totally off the rails. If you're not gay, it's not going to affect your life.

Well if it isn't the phony captain. The guy that say he is something he is not. A complete fraud.
Phony cappy, on behalf of Idaho and myself it is gratifying to know that we live in your cesspool head rent free. Now, phony cappy, run off and whine because someone responded to YOUR vitriol and name calling. Play the victim, that a girl.

CaptainC, you had better stick to photography.
You sound very confused about everything else.
You have no dog in this fight?

We essentially agree. I was once very opposed to gay marriage but someone asked me the question " who does it hurt". When i realized that it hurt no one I changed my mind. BTW the gay population is less than 1% of the population. They make a lot of noise (real noise noise not "grain") so the seem like more. If you were to take 3 area away the population o gays would be much lower. NY city- San Francisco -- Provincetown.

Come on Donna. Right or wrong you know that it effects many peoples life's. Queer or not.
The unbridled hate comes from both sides, right?
Just taking sides does not make right, don't you agree?

If you have no dog in the hunt then you maybe should consider staying out of it
No one has seen anything here from you to suggest that you are younger or more articulate than anyone else..and to be crowing about your own morals then hammering Idaho and SBW is pretty hypocritical

CaptainC is a pompous ass but I am answering your pompous asses post. Tell us, were you asked to leave divinity school due to inappropriate homosexual behavior?
You should not be preaching.
If you can not control yourself, cutting and pasting from the bible, please consider the Christian Photography Group section on UHH. I believe it is moderated by one much more humble and truthful than you and you can learn a lot from Sinatraman.
Ask what to expect when you throw rocks. They come flying back at you. :XD:
