Got a 7DmkII, early shots after learning basic controls

Well I got my 7DmkII body on the 18th, finally settlied on a new lens the 20th. (Tamron 10-24 for crop sensor)
Played with it a few days using 24-105f4L and Tamron 150-600. The L's shots came out OK then got disasters with the 150-600, colors wildly off, blurred out of focus. Did the firmware upgrade and then went over all the settings. Find me a baby sitter, I discovered that while playing with dials etc to get the feel I had set the shutter for HDR instead of burst and I was shooting while panning etc. No wonder they were awful!

Reset everything in case Mr Murphey was still around. Went to the Riverwalk. Found one Egret. Got a bunch of it just standing on a mudflat among the plants preening, handheld using railings and post to help steady etc. Went to change lenses to try the 10-24 for the first time. While in the middle of changing a little kid in the park screamed, Egret took off, eye level to me, slow about 25 feet in front of me as he passed right to left. And I am standing there with a lensless body in my hand. Thank you Murphey.

Tried about 10 frames with the 10-24 and got overexposed and WB is off. Need to go over settings for that lens. (One shot was great color wise, accidental shutter click while turning, got a tree top, sky and part of a cloud. Can't seem to get anything right in PP today. This one of the bridge is all messed up, but the lens was focusing well etc. I am just not in shape to do PP. My daughter's cat died last night, we buried him by the rose bush this morning and we are all upset and nervous. I gave up on PP, will try again another day, go take some new frames etc.

Now I am worried about her, she had to drive 70 miles to UCLA to do a shift at the hospital, all pre-meds have to do it and she is getting her hours out of the way to have uninterrupted time to study for the MCAT test in Sep. She promised if she wasn't feeling well she would flop on a friend's couch at the dorm and drive back in the morning.
