Bozik. i was trying to down load from my external hard drive. This is not the first time this has happened. Oh, & you're right. it is a super lens. Just a little heavy. I had it on a tripod when I used it at the zoo in the lion & gorilla area.
That lizard is amazingly sharp. I totally admire your ability.

Patience and practice. Thank you for your kind words.
Spectacular scenes,David. The colors in the sky #1 are brilliant and I love the rain wall coming #2.That image is not as bold but the muted colors are every bit as beautiful.

Thanks Carly. I find shooting scenics with a telephoto exciting. You can isolate specific patterns and colors much better. I also find that many folks oversaturate their sky images. I try not to do that as they don't look very real to me.

Great set David.
Thank you for always taking the time to comment, Jim.
I was away and missed this post David. A very nice set. That last shot really says "don't mess with me!"

I took a day trip out the desert yesterday. I spent a couple of hours taking photos, but it was very hot. here are the only three subject taken with the 150-600 sport lens. The scenic were grabbed out the car window. Just pulled off the side of the road and snapped them. The Spiney Crevice Lizard was shot with a Nest carbon fiber tripod and Nest Gimbal head.
The images are very good with this lens. I have considered it but the size and weight turns me off.
How does it compare to your 80-400 at 400mm cropped.

I haven't made a direct comparison crop to see the difference. I am using them both for slightly different purposes. It is a bit heavier than the 80-400, so I prefer to use it on the tripod unless there us some reason not to.
I find it very easy and smooth to use so far. It searches a bit more than the 80-400 in lower light, but with the subject preferences selected for each lenses strength, there aren't any glaring issues.
I still want to test it with the Fresnel lens on the flash unit for birds in darkened areas.
