Yes it will. Of course. Is it a manual focus or an AF version ?

Isn't the only 135mm f/2 the AF-D DC lens?

It is very similar to the 85mm f/1.4D, and even more similar to the 105 f/2D DC lens. Which is to say very sharp and with wonderful bokeh. It has the older screw driven Auto Focus, so it isn't terribly fast.

A lot of folks (and I'm one) who shoot people pictures prefer a focal length from 120 to 150mm. The 70-200mm f/2.8G is more flexible, but the 135mm f/2 is better in some ways when 135mm is the right focal length.

My bad! I was thinking of it being the only AF, and translated that to only 135mm f/2 period. I do own a 135mm f/2 DC, but have never used any of the MF versions.

I have shot with this lens. Very sharp, heavy, but that is to be expected with a fast lens. The finish on this lens is also unique, they made several lenses in this finish, one of them being the 200mm micro and I think an 80-200 and a 85mm 1.4? Anyway I digress, this lens is very sharp, you will enjoy it. Yes, it will work fine on the D800.
