Photo op suggestions for northern Vermont?

Specifically in the area between Lincoln and S. Burlington, Vermont. Have a road trip planned for mid September from the midwest to Bar Harbor and back. Will be in this area for a couple days before heading to the finger lakes (we have them well covered). Any photo "must see" spots in this area of Vermont?

Thanks for your help.

We enjoyed finding the many covered bridges of Vermont this past spring.

If you are in this area the 1'st 2 weeks in Oct. you will have no trouble finding photo
ops anywhere.

Thanks, Ed. Very encouraging; as that's exactly when we'll be there.

I was just up there a week ago. Find the top of a hill (there are many!) and you'll be set. The time you'll be there makes your problem, "how do I pick where to stop, it's all too good."

I found it profitable to go to covered bridges Vermont on the computer and download them to your GPS. Then when you get close to one the gps will let you know.

Good thought. Now I just need to get a GPS. But this might be the incentive that I was needing. Thanks.

PS...I don't own a cell phone either.

I suggest a cell phone--no matter what--before you embark on such a trip. If you need it, it will be cheap @ 10 times the price. And a genration old smart phone will do everything you'll EVER need.

I lied. We do have 1 Tracfone that we keep in the car for emergencies. I think I have accumulated over 3000 minutes on it by now. We use it every once in a while just to be sure it still works, or needs a charge. It does.

Stowe is a very picturesque village.

Find one of the ski mountains that run their lifts year-round and take the trip up the mountain; your best photo ops will be on the way down.

From Vermont to Maine, consider taking the Kancamagus Highway (Rt.112) through the Presidential Range of New Hampshire. Conway NH is also a nice place.

In Northern Vermont, Stowe is the ultimate New England village. It is a World class ski area. Look them up on the net. When I was a skier I skied Mt Mansfield at Stowe. There used to be a trail called Toll Road- I believe that it actually was driveable ( for a fee- hence the name) in the summer and early fall, for leaf peeping. Check it out. The view from the top of the mountain is breathtaking

Just googled "Toll Road" Yes you can still drive up to the top of Mansfield. If you do you will see the start of 2 of the best runs in the world. "nose Dive" known as Nose and Chin Clip called the clip. If you go, and you must, Just think of me going down those runs. (a very long time ago) BTW the ride ain't cheap, about 20 bucks .
