According to Best Buy that is $500.00 off. According to Nikon's site as well.

I don't check B & H every day. I get too depressed seeing all that good stuff and not having a big bank balance. :( :( :(

That has been the D610 selling price since last November. The $1999 was the introduction selling price.
Refurbs are available for $1349

Cameras are usually advertised at the MSRP....Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price. They usually sell at-or even above-the MSRP when new. A few months later, they sell at hundreds of dollars less during seasonal sales. After a year, or so, they routinely sell at hundreds below the MSRP on a regular basis, even when no sale is on.Wait awhile, and see what the selling price is then.

Retailers offer deals and non-deals. When they lower the price on Camera A, they raise the price on Computer B. Comparison shop items which have been on the market for at least one year, in order to get the best deals. The D610 has been out for several years, and at one time sold for $2,699.99. Now days, $1,495.99, or thereabouts, seems to be the usual price. Some places sell it for $1,199.99. The less costly ones may be 'Grey Market' items with no US Warranty.

If you buy a grey market item, and it breaks, you will have to spend a lot to ship it overseas to get it serviced, and then get it shipped back to you after servicing...so you won't be saving any money in the long run.
