I have been around long enough to remember this one of the Queen Mary leaving New York City on her final voyage from that port. This image was done from the then Pan Am Building looking West with a 35mm Nikon and Tri-X.

Outstanding shot! I remember back in '73 when I first ran into her in Long Beach, Ca. I'm not sure if that is when it first came there, but there wasn't anything to much around it at its moorings. Since then we've had a lot of family history of goings on there. Why, that's the first place I ever had eggs Benedict!😆👍

A friend sailed from NY to England on either the Mary or the Elizabeth, and we went on board before he sailed. It was a beautiful old ship.

The Queen Mary was used as a troop ship in EWII. My dad got a "free" ride home from the war on her. He told how packed she was. He never rode her again.
