I know George would love to take it to Oshkosh this year but I have my doubts. As you know, the weather has not been conducive for testing this light aircraft, so far 50 ft. altitude and 150 yards level flight. Trying to learn how it lands is a challenge, You cannot do a flare out and stall, you fly it right onto the ground. With the open frame and all the wires, there is so much drag, that when you pull the throttle back, it almost stops flying. Makes for some fun photography.

I'm debating whether or not I'll go to Oshkosh this year. If I do, it probably won't be for the whole week like last year. My brother's flying up with his partner (aircraft/financial) - they have a 182 - and was disappointed when I said I probably wouldn't go up, so I'm reconsidering. I'd like to try to get my vacation next year paid for early and last year I missed an important meeting for work when I was gone so i have to find out when it is this year. I'm on unemployment in the summer because I drive a school bus. Last year (and 3 yrs ago) I used EAA's RideShare and brought up a guy(s) from Australia that flew into O'Hare (2011 just him, last year with his son). That paid for my gas both ways. Here's a stitched pano from last year (North 40 - almost on the polar opposite side of the complex as where I camped. I think it took me at least 1/2 hr to walk there from where I was - a few years ago someone posted a satellite photo of the convention and we each found our camp spots!!!) I probably took at least 3k pics last year...some that turned out pretty nice.
