Induro Tripod Question

I have an Induro tripod CT313 and have lost one of the rubber feet. I have contracted Induro, and they referred me to B&H which is out of stock on this part. I have read that they dimensions of the bolt for the rubber foot is 3/8 by 16. Anyone out there with a different tripod that knows if their rubber feet are the same size?

Thanks

Hello MarkintheHV-
This bit information may be helpful to you or others. The thread size could be 3/8-16 or 10mm; nearly everything is metric these days. Here is the good news: a 3/8-16 bolt will fit a 10mm thread (but not the reverse). If you 're a DIY guy, a few dollars and a trip to the hardware store would put you back on 3 legs. I have a small machine shop. I will look at your tripod online to see if there is an obvious quick (and sturdy) fix.

Being that the Trypod is carbon fiber, I would think that a Nylon bolt would be a better option since the nylon will not cut into or wear on the threads of tripod legs as much. You can try your locale hardware, or

You would should be able to grind off some of the head to make a cone shaped spike. Just one will be white and the rest black.

Bill has a very good point. Induro is a very good company and there is a good chance the threads are steel or brass because the spiked foot looks to be plated or stainless steel. Definately inspect and be sure. Fortunately, the solution I use in a situation like this can be done with a nylon or steel bolt. I've done this in dozens of situations. I'll explain how to do it and you can decide if it's right for you. Some members may have suggestions to improve my method- great- it would be helpful to me as well. At your hardware store ask for a 3/8" threaded rod connector. A 3/8" bolt, standard size, uses a 9/16" wrench. Threaded rod connectors are often oversized, using a 5/8" or larger wrench. if you have a choice, use the largest one. Next ask for a rubber chair leg tip that fits snuggly over the rod connector. The connector should longer than the chair tip. If it's not you can add another connector or some 3/8" nuts. If the chair tip is only slightly longer than than the connector, you can cut back the rubber. add 1 or 2 fender washers with a diameter greater than leg of tripod, and a standard size nut to make every thing tight, and the remaining length of the bolt screws into the threads of your tripod. If you are using a metal bolt you may need to use carriage bolt; hex head bolts of this length are often not threaded all th way to the end. DO THE ASSEMBLY FIRST. USE APPROPRIATE WRENCHES AND LOCKTITE AT EACH CONNECTION. PUT THE CHAIR TIP ON LAST. If you can't find a chair tip small enough, there is a simple way to take care of that. So far you've spent less than five dollars probably much less. Make two more of them so all of your tripod legs are the same length, and use them until you can get three factory replacement. Because of a medical condition I type very slowly. By the time this is posted your problem may already be solved. Good luck.
